Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday closed northward, gaining N32 billion as small and medium stocks lifted the market during the day.
Market capitalisation of listed equities appreciated by 0.08 per cent to N39.082 trillion from N39.050 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also increased by 57.94 basis points to 71066.64 points from 71008.70 points traded the previous day.
An analysis of the investment showed that Learn Africa and Mecure led gainers table in percentage terms, gaining 10 per cent each to close at N3.08 and N6.93 per share respectively. Northern Nigeria Flour Mills Nigeria Plc gained 9.90 per cent to close at N28.85 per share.
Cadbury Nigeria Plc gained 9.78 per cent to close at N15.15 per share, Multiverse added 9.77 per cent to close at N4.38 per unit.
On the contrary, Champion Breweries topped losers chart, dropping by 10 per cent to close at N2.24 per share, Oando Plc trailed with a loss of3.72 per cent to close at N11.65 per unit, International Breweries fell by 2.17 per cent to close at N4.45 per share, FCMB group down by 1.45 per cent to close at N6.80 per share while Jaiz Bank dipped by 1.23 per cent to close at N1.60 per share.
The volume of shares traded increased by 132.952 million , representing a surge of 37.09 per cent as investors exchanged 491.397 million shares valued at N3.221 billion in 6549 deals against 358.445 million shares worth N4.357 billion in 6551 deals on Monday.
Transactions in the shares of Unity Bank led market activities with 75.441 million shares valued at N105.346 million, Universal insurance followed with account of 61.434 million shares cost N14.965 million, JapaulGold traded 30.408 million shares worth N51.956 million while Veritas Kapital exchanged 29.968 million shares valued at N10.172 million.
