Despite apology, MTN increases call rates

Nigeria’s telecommunications giant, MTN, has increased the call rate on its pulse bundle to N13.8 per minute from N7.8 per minute.
A check showed that a voice call of 62 seconds cost N14.62 kobo.

The tariff hike by MTN represents a 43 percent increase.
This is coming on the heels of the company’s apology to subscribers for increasing its 15G data plan by 200 percent.
In a statement posted on its official Instagram page on Thursday, MTN admitted to miscalculating the pricing adjustment and reassured customers of its commitment to better service in the future.
