Domestic equities bearish, declines 0.18%

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Wednesday returned to bearish run, shedding N119 billion.

Market capitalisation of listed equities declined by 0.18 per cent to N65.470 trillion from N65.589 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 189.73 basis points to 104187.00 from 104376.73 points recorded on Tuesday.
A review of the investment during the day showed that LiveStock feeds and VFG group led gainers table with 10 per cent to close at N8.03 and 72.60 per share respectively. NGX group followed with 9.86 per cent to close at N35.65 per share, Wapic Insurance added 9.60 per cent to close at N1.94 per share, Union Dicon gained 9.48 per cent to close at N6.35 per unit.
On the contrary, AMCall and LearnAfrica topped losers’ chart, dropping by 10 per cent each to close at N5.22 and N2.97 per unit, Ecobank Transnational incorporated trailed with a loss of 9.90 per cent to close at N26.85 per share, PZ Cusson down by 9.88 per cent to close at N30.10 per unit, Unilever Nigeria Plc fell by 9.75 per cent to close at N34.70 per unit.
Volume of trades declined by 83.949 million representing 18.23 per cent as investors traded 376.616 million shares worth N12.887 billion in 11576 deals against 460.565 million shares cost N10.105 billion in 14528 deals.
Transactions in the shares of GTCO led market activities with 62.882 million shares valued at N4.095 billion, AccessCorp followed with account of 51.377 million shares cost N1.058 billion, Zenith Bank exchanged 32.325 million shares valued at N1.518 trillion, United Bank for Africa traded 22.560 million shares cost N775.157 million while Nigerian Breweries sold a total of 18.199 million shares worth N16.618 million.
