Domestic equities gain N13bn
Trading on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday sustained upward trajectory, gaining N13 billion.
This resulting in Market capitalisation of listed equities appreciating by 0.1 per cent to N95.280 trillion from N95.267 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also increased by 21.23 basis points to 149459.11 points from 149437.88 points traded on Monday.
The market breath was positive with 31 gainers against 26 losers, bringing year to date return to 45.21 per cent.
Volume of trades went up by 472.837 million, representing 85.48 per cent to 1.026 billion against 553.163 million recorded the previous day. Value of transactions up by 64.75 per cent to settle at N8.593 billion.
A review of the investment showed that Alex led gainers table with 10 per cent to close at N9.35 per unit, Guinness Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of 9.98 per cent to close at N263.40 per unit, Multiverse and Mecure added 9.95 per cent each to close at N12.15 and N45.85 per share respectively. Sovereign Trust Insurance up by 9.89 per cent to close at N4.11 per share.
On the contrary, HMCall topped losers’ chart, dropping by 9.93 per cent to N3.72 per share, Veritas Kapital and Living Trust trailed with a loss of 9.09 per cent each to close at N1.60 and N3.50 per unit, Linkage Assurance declined by 5.71 per cent to close at N1.65 per share.
Transactions in the shares of Access Holdings Company led market activities with 385.834 million shares valued at N7.720 billion, Champion Breweries followed with account of 111.777 million shares cost N817.820 million, Sterling Bank traded 85.488 million valued at N791.468 million, FirstHoldco exchanged 51.923 million shares cost N1.830 billion.
