Equities market gains N2.04trn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday closed northward, appreciating by N2.04 trillion as the market hits N87 trillion mark.
The market maintained growth profile following gains recorded by medium and capitalised stocks that boosted lifted trading activities.

Market capitalisation of listed equities went up by 2.03 per cent to N87.191 trillion from N85.455 trillion it closed on Monday.
The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 2746.38 basis points to 137912.87 points from 135166.51 points recorded the previous day.
The positive performance was driven by gains in the shares of MTN Nigeria, Dangote Sugar, UACN, Berger Paint and 47 other companies.
The market breath was positive with 51 gainers against 25 decliners, bringing the year to date return to N34.04 per unit.
An analysis of the investment showed that four companies, led gainers table with 10 per cent at the close of trading on Tuesday. Berger Paint, HNCall gained 10 per cent to close at N34.10 and N4.73 per unit respectively. Learn Africa and Thomas Way added 10 per cent to close respectively to N6.93 and N3.19 per unit while EllahLakes followed with a gain of 9.99 per cent to close at N9.80 per share.
On the contrary, Northern Nigeria Flour Mills and Abbey Building Society topped losers chart, declining by 10 per cent each to close at N93.15 and N7.20 per share respectively.
Vitafoam Nigeria Plc and IMG trailed with a loss of 9.96 per cent each to close at N79.10 and N37.65 per unit respectively while international Breweries down by 7.00 per cent to close at N15.5 per unit.
Volume of trades also went up by 45.211 million, representing 5.68 per cent as investors traded 840.804 million shares worth N30.626 billion in 28358 deals against 795.593 million shares valued at N23.231 billion in 37626 deals.
Trading in the shares of Fidelity Bank led market activities with 111.265 million shares valued at N2.334 billion, Royal Express followed with account of 74.075 million shares valued at N110.802 million, Jaiz Bank traded 60.856 million shares worth N283.186 million, Universal insurance traded 38.281 million shares valued at N28.833 million, Access Holdings exchanged 36.313 million shares valued at N1.005 billion.
