Equities market gains N212bn

The positive momentum on the Nigerian Exchange continued on Wednesday, as the benchmark NGX All-Share index broke out the 121653.90 points basis points level to a attain a new all-time high of 336.74 basis points to 121,989.67 points, thereby extending the markup phase of the market.
Market Capitalization of listed equities also appreciated by N212 billion 0.28 per cent to N76.970 trillion from N76.758 trillion reported the previous day.

The market closed northward with positive market breath of 59 companies recorded gains against 21 decliners, bringing year to date return to 18.52 per cent at the close of trading for the day.
An analysis of the investment showed that Chams Plc and Omatek recorded 10 per cent gain to close at N2.75 and N1.21 per unit respectively. Redstarex , RTBriscoe also increased by 10 per cent to close respectively at N11.11 and N3.85 per unit. C and I Leasing added 10 per cent to close at N7.26 per share.
On the contrary, Legend Internet topped losers’ chart, dropping by 8.05 per cent to close at N8.00 per share, Guinea Insurance trailed with a drop of 7.14 per cent to close at N7.14 per unit, Eterna Plc dipped by 4.65 per cent to close at N43.00, Entranzact fell by 4.44 per cent to close at N9.00 while Regal Insurance sheds 4.35 per cent to close at N0.92 per share.
Volume of trades declined by 119.297 million, representing 11.84 per cent as investors traded 888.703 million shares valued at N15.609 billion in 24303 deals against 1.008 billion shares worth N19.484 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 24770 deals.
Transactions in the shares of Japaul Gold led market activities with 132.338 million shares valued at N410.880 million, Access Holdings company followed with 83.039 million shares worth N1.848 billion, AIICO Insurance traded 50.002 million shares valued at N95.260 million, Universal insurance exchanged 41.948 million shares cost N30.518 million, EllahLakes exchanged 31.939 million shares worth N33.097 million
