Equity market returns to bearish run, sheds N77bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed lower, declining by N77 billion
Market capitalisation of listed equities depreciated by 0.11 per cent to N67.102 trillion from N67.179 trillion reported on Wednesday.

The NGX All Share Index also went down by 123.53 basis points to 107675.48 points from 107798.99 points it closed the previous day
As a result, year to date return stood at 4.73 per cent as 29 companies recorded positive performance against 25 firms closed in red.
An analysis of the investment showed that PZ Cusson and Oando Plc led gainers table with 10 per cent each to close at N32.45 and N52.60 per unit respectively. HoneyWell Flour followed with a gain of 9.96 per cent to close at N13.03 per share, Caverton Business Solutions added 9.80 per cent to close at N2.69 per unit, Livestock Feeds up by 9.35 per cent to close at N6.90 per share.
On the contrary, Fidson health recorded the highest loss during the day, shedding 9.60 per cent to close at N17.90 per unit, ETI trailed with a loss of 9.51 per cent to close at N31.40 per unit, Guinea Insurance declined by 8.33 per cent to close at N0.66 per unit, Prestige insurance fell by 7.50 per cent to close at N1.11 per share, SUNU Assurance declined by 6.44 per cent to close at N5.52 per unit.
Volume of trades increased by 177.904 million, representing 72.46 per cent as investors exchanged 423.420 million shares worth N9.565 billion in 11112 deals against 423.420 million shares valued at N8.414 billion in 10098 deals.
