Equity market sheds N11bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange Monday opened the week on a negative note, declining by N11 billion.
Market capitalization of listed equities sheds 0.10 per cent to N75.951 trillion from N75.962 trillion reported the previous day.

The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 17.19 basis points to 119978.57 points from 119995.76 points it closed on Friday.
As a result, year to date return went down to 16.57 per cent as 32 companies closed in positive direction against 31 decliners.
An analysis of the investment for the day showed that CWG led gainers table with 10 per cent to close at N12.65 per unit, Caverton Business Solutions followed with a gain of 9.96 per cent to close at N5.74 per unit, Neimeth international Pharmaceutical gained 9.93 per cent to.close at N6.53 per unit, FTNCocoa added 9.91 per cent to close at N3.66 per share , Meyer Paint increased by 9.84 per cent to close at N10.05 per unit.
On the contrary, LearnAfrica topped losers’ chart, dropping by 10 per cent to close at N4.59 per unit, Julius Berger trailed with a loss of 9.97 per cent to close at N112.00, C&I Leasing down by 9.90 per cent to close at N4.64 per unit, Thomas Way dipped by 9.62 per cent to close at N1.88 per share, Daar Communications declined by 8.20 per cent to close at N0.56 per unit.
Volume of trades increased by 1.405 billion, representing 224.57 per cent as investors traded 2.031 billion shares valued at N44.336 billion in 25175 deals against 625.750 million shares cost N12.782 billion exchange hands the previous day in 21800 deals.
Transactions in the shares of Royal Express led market activities with 502.264 million shares valued at N502.449 million, Oando Plc followed with account of 371.073 million shares cost N19.870 billion, Access Holdings company traded 328.380 million shares valued at N7.226 billion, UACN exchanged 128.778 million shares cost N4.444 billion, Living Trust traded 112.190 million shares valued at N539.655 million.
