Equity market sustains growth, gains N104bn
Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday sustained a bullish trend, gaining N104 billion.
Market capitalization of listed equities increased by 0.18 per cent to N56.640 trillion from N56.536 trillion recorded the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 181.99 basis points to 98568.59 points from 98386.60 points traded on Monday.
The good performance recorded during the day was driven by gains in the shares of FBNHoldings, Fidelity Bank, Nigerian Breweries, United Bank for Africa, GTCO Plc, NDIF, Zenith Bank among others.
A review of the investment during the day showed that NIDF led gainers table with 9.94 per cent to close at N111.70 per unit, FBNHoldings followed with a gain of 9.93 per cent to close at N31.00 per unit, EllaLakes added 9.76 per cent to close at N3.71 per unit, Fidelity Bank increased by 9.70 per cent to close at N16.40 per share, ABC Transport gained 9.52 per cent to close at N1.15 per share
On the contrary, Oando topped losers chart, dropping by 10 per cent to close at N72.00, Okomuoil trailed with a loss of 9.98 per cent to close at N376.00, Caverton Business Solutions dipped by 9.88 per cent to close at N3.65 per unit, Multiverse down by 9.82 per cent to close at N10.10 per share while Fidson health care dipped by 9.74 per cent to close at N15.75 per share.
Volume of trades increased 47.325 million, representing 5.84 per cent as investors traded 763.000 million shares valued at N11.780 billion in 12081 deals against 810.429 million shares cost N8.293 billion in 10669 deals.
Trading in the shares of Fidelity Bank led market activities with 126.085 million shares valued at N1.168 billion, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria followed with account of 103.397 million shares cost N1.168 billion, United Bank for Africa exchanged 73.538 million shares cost N1.857 billion, Caverton Business Solutions traded 43.674 million shares worth N181.486 million while EllahLakes traded 42.138 million shares worth N156.293 million.
