FAAC distributes N2.225bn to FG, States, LGs in August 2025

The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) on Wednesday shared the sum of N2.225 billion to the Federal Government, States and the Local Government Councils as August federation revenue. 

A communiqué issued by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) after its meeting in Abuja, the amount comprised statutory revenue of N1,478.593 billion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N672.903 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of ₦32.338 billion, and the  Difference N41.284 billion.

According to FAAC, a total gross revenue of N3,635.802 billion was available in the month of August  2025.  Total deduction for cost of collection was N124.839 billion while total transfers, interventions, refunds and savings was N1,285.845 billion   

Gross revenue of N722.619 billion was available from the Value Added Tax (VAT) in August  2025 as against ₦687.940 billion distributed the preceding month, representing a ₦34.679 billion increase.

The committee stated that from the N1,478.593  billion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received the sum of N684.462 billion, the States received N347.168 billion, the Local Government Councils got N267.652 billion, and the sum of N179.311 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting State as derivation revenue. 

From the N672.903 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, the Federal Government received N100.935 billion, the States received N336.452 billion and the Local Government Councils took home N235.516 billion. 

The total sum of N4.851  billion was received by the Federal Government from the N32.338 billion from  Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the States received N16.169  billion and the Local Government Councils got N11.318 billion.

Concerning the N41.284 billion Exchange Differential, the Federal Government received N19.799 billion and the State Governments received N10.042 billion, the Local Government Councils received N7.742 billion, while the sum of ₦3.701 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting States as derivation revenue.

Oil & Gas Royalty,Value Added Tax (VAT) and CET Levies increased significantly while Petroleum profit Tax (PPT),Import Duty, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Excise Duty recorded decreases.
