Gas turbine project to boost electricity supply in Delta community – Stakeholders

Stakeholders in Oleh Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have affirmed the need to sustain the effort to actualise the Oleh Gas Turbine project.
According to the stakeholders at a recent parley in Oleh, said the project when completed enhance electricity supply in the region. The project, which received a boost from the Oleh Community Development Union (OCDU) leadership, is expected to bring relief to residents and businesses in the community, which continues to groan under perennial epilectic power supply.
Speaking at the event, OCDU President General, Believe Unuafe, briefed members of the OCDU Gas Turbine Committee and Oleh Indigenes & The Truth, on the project’s progress. Unuafe revealed that N1 billion has been earmarked for the Oleh gas turbine electricity project from the N1.6 billion, last accrued proceeds of crude oil assets located in the Oleh Kingdom. he added that the remaining N600 million will be appropriated for other infrastructure projects.
The OCDU helmsman commended Chairman of the PIA Committee OML 30, Chief Henry Ojogho, for his efforts in lighting the Oleh Kingdom through solar street lights, road networks, and other projects. He urged all Oleh indigenes to support the project, emphasising that it would bring significant benefits to the community.
He also also commended the sustained advocacy of Comrade Morrison Igelige of the Oleh Needs Gas Turbine group, Chief Jubilant Igelige & Rev Eziomano Jerry Odugala, Administrators of the Oleh Indigenes And The Truth for their online integration and sensitisation efforts. He emphasized the importance of acting in an advisory role to experts and probable investors to avoid unnecessary controversies and distractions.
The project is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and provide a reliable source of electricity for residents and businesses. With the Nigerian government emphasising the importance of gas turbine deployment to boost electricity supply, the Oleh Gas Turbine project is a step in the right direction.
