Gov Ododo appoints Ahovi Commission for Works, Housing

The Governor of Kogi state, Ahmed Usman Ododo has appointed Engineer Mohammed Yusuf Ahovi as the Commissioner for Works and Housing. 

The governor, who made the announcement on Saturday during his inauguration speech, promised to hit the ground running, having taking over from his predecessor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, who laid down a good foundation for him, insisting that there was no reason for him to delay in appointing his cabinet. 

Adovi, who faced the Honourable members of the state House of Assembly Wednesday for screening and confirmation was vigourously drilled with many questions from the assembly members on his profession and account on his previous office, thereafter, he was screened and confirmed.

On his promise to hit the ground running, to the Governor immediately appropriated portfolios and swore in the nominees urging them to go to their various offices.  

Ahovi, thank the former governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello and Gov Usman Ododo for inviting him to serve in his cabinet and help to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new task of serving the people of Kogi state.

Ahovi served as Special Assistance to immediate past governor on Solid Mineral Development. He is a season miner, and has worked in the Federal Ministries of Mines and Steel and Water Resources before he resigned to set up a private firm.
