Market cap appreciates by 0.75%
The equity market on Tuesday sustained growth profile as investors wealth increased by N471 billion.
Market capitalisation of listed equities also appreciated by 0.75 per cent to N63.332 trillion from N62.861 trillion traded the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index up by 766.63 basis points to 103137.99 points from 102370.36 points recorded on Monday.
The market growth was lifted by gains in the shares of MTN Nigeria, SCOA Plc, Cap Plc and 26 other firms.
As result year to date return took positive direction with 0.21 per cent as 29 companies closed in green against 28 firms that reported negative performance.
A review of trading activities showed that MTN Nigeria led gainers table with 10 per cent to close at N256.30 per unit, SCOA followed with a gain of 9.93 per cent to close at N2.99 per unit, Omatek gained 9.88 per cent to close at N0.89 per share, Universal insurance increased by 8.70 per cent to close at N0.75 per unit, Cap Plc grew by 8.52 per cent to close at N47.75 per share.
On the contrary, NSLTech topped losers chart, dropping by 9.88 per cent to close at N0.73 per share, Abbey Building Society trailed with a loss of 9.09 per cent to close at N3.30 per share, SUNU Assurance dipped by 8.21 per cent to close at N6.15 per share, Deap Capital down by 7.08 per cent to close at N1.05 per unit, C&I Leasing decreased by 6.82 per cent to close at N4.10 per unit.
Volume of trades declined by 885.676 million, representing 66.79 per cent as investors traded 440.324 million shares valued at N11.970 billion in 13087 deals against 1.326 billion share worth N17.666 billion in 13891 deals.
Transactions in the shares of Lasaco Insurance led market activities with 108.044 million shares valued at N338.668 million, Access Holdings Plc followed with account of 44.043 million shares worth N1.066 billion, United Bank for Africa traded 27.876 million shares cost N945.658 million. Zenith Bank exchanged 26.702 million shares valued at N1.255 billion while Universal insurance traded 22.672 million shares worth N16.702 million.
