N/East governors treated to gala night of culture, unity in Jalingo

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and his fellow North-East Governors were hosted by Governor Agbu Kefas to a grand dinner and cultural gala on Friday in Jalingo, ahead of the 12th North-East Governors’ Forum meeting which was held on Saturday.
The event, held at the Government House banquet hall, witnessed vibrant cultural displays, music, and performances by traditional and contemporary groups from Taraba and other states in the North-East.
In his welcome remarks, Governor Kefas emphasized the importance of regional solidarity, stressing that unity and a strong bond of brotherhood remain critical to addressing the common challenges facing the North-East.
He noted that the Forum provides an opportunity for governors to come up with strategies that promote peace, development and prosperity in the sub-region.
Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, who gave the vote of thanks, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Kefas and the people of Taraba State for the warm hospitality and refreshing reception accorded them.
Governor Zulum stated that the evening’s show of culture and camaraderie set the tone for a fruitful meeting, where the governors are expected to deliberate on strengthening unity and addressing pressing issues such as insecurity, poverty and infrastructure deficits in the region.
