N25.32bn worth of shares changes hand at Thursday equity market

Investors on Thursday bought 1.299 million shares worth N25.326 billion.

The volume of trades increased by 80 million representing 6.07 per cent against 1.383 billion valued at N16.484 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 9899 deals.

The NGX trading result showed that Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N1 billion or 0.002 per cent to N56.479 trillion from N56.478 trillion it closed on Wednesday.

The NGX All Share Index also up by 1.99 basis points to 99842.94 points from 99840.95 traded the previous day.

An analysis of the investment showed that Veritas Kapital and Champion Breweries led gainers table with 9.88 per cent each to close at N0.89 and N3.56 per share respectively.

Royal Exchange and RTBriscoe followed with a gain of 9.84 per cent each to close respectively at N0.67 and N0.67 per unit.

Chams Plc added 9.79 per cent to close at N2.13 per share.

On the contrary, Transco Hotel topped losers’ chart, dropping by 10 per cent to close at N90.00 per unit Regal Insurance trailed with a loss of 8.51 per cent to close at N0.43 per unit, Lasaco Insurance fell by 6.05 per cent to close at N2.02 per unit, NEM Insurance down by 5.76 per cent to close at N9.00 per share while Fidelity Bank dipped by 4.15 per cent to close at N10.40 per share.

Transactions in the shares of FBNHoldings led market activities with 871.083 million valued at N19.119 billion, Fidelity Bank followed with 162.079 million shares cost N1.731 billion, Transcorps traded 33.698 million shares worth N399.731 million, AccessCorp traded 23.362 million shares cost N442.180 million while AIICO Insurance exchanged 22.639 million shares cost N21.793 million.
