The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) will meet with stakeholders in the power sector to proffer solutions to the embarrassing national grid collapse.

The National grid collapsed on Saturday morning bringing it to three times in the past seven days.

In a statement signed by its management, the Commission stated that the public hearing would hold on Thursday at its hearing room.

According to the statement made available on Sunday, the public hearing is in line with “Section 48, subsection l of the Electricity Act 2023 (Amended), the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is mandated to conduct public hearing on critical issues relating to the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

“The Commission has noted with concern the recent escalating incidence of disturbances often leading to marked outage in several states thus reversing many areas recently achieved in reducing infrastructure deficit and improving grid stability.

“In this regard, the Commission hereby invites NESI stakeholders, civil society organisations, and the general public to a hearing,” the statement said.
