Investors on Wednesday traded 360.558 million shares valued at N7.252 billion in 8813 deals against 1.013 billion worth N7.687 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 8295 deals.

Volume of activities declined by 652.442 million, representing a drop of 64.41 per cent.

The NGX trading result showed that market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N599 billion or 1.10 per cent to N55.047 trillion from N54.448 trillion it closed on Tuesday.

But the NGX All Share Index dropped by 64.41 basis points to 95895.92 points from 95895.92 points reported on Tuesday.

As a result, the year-to-date return went down to 28.16 per cent as NGX printed 27 gainers against 18 losers.

An analysis of the Investment showed that Ikeja Hotel led gainers table during the day, appreciating by 10 per cent to close at N7.70 per unit, RTBriscoe with a gain of 9.76 per cent to close at N2.25 per unit, Cutix Plc gained 9.66 per cent to close at N3.18 per unit, Tantalizer added 9.62 per cent to close at N0.57 per share, Thomas Way increased by 6.96 per cent to close at N1.69 per unit.

On the contrary, UPL topped losers’ chart, dropping by 9.40 per cent to close at N2.41 per share, Oando Plc trailed with a loss of 8.66 per cent to close at N39.55 per unit, Nascon fell by 8.39 per cent to close at N32.20 per share, May and Baker dipped by 5.41 per cent to close at N7.00 while C &I Leasing went down by 5.08 per cent to close at N2.80 per share.

Trading in the shares of Oando Plc led market activities with 66.233 million shares valued at N2.692 billion, GTCO Plc followed with 45.748 million shares worth N2.086 billion, Cutix Plc traded 29.410 million shares cost N93.060 million, Universal insurance exchanged 25.410 million shares valued at N7.816 million while FCMB group traded 21.230 million shares cost N161.295 million.
