The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) has suspended trading in the shares of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc, effective May 6, 2025, following the company’s failure to file its unaudited financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2024.

In a notice issued by the Exchange stated that the action was taken in line with Rule 3.1 of its Default Filing Rules, which empowers the NGX to suspend any listed company that fails to comply with financial disclosure requirements after the expiration of a grace period, known as the “Cure Period.”

Under these rules, the Exchange is obligated to notify the company with a Second Filing Deficiency Notification and proceed to suspend trading if the default is not remedied.

The NGX also confirmed that it has alerted the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and informed the market accordingly.

The suspension takes effect immediately and will remain in place until Golden Guinea Breweries complies by submitting the overdue financial results. No timeline has yet been provided by the company for resolution.
