The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, following his passing. A high-level delegation led by the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman at his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, on Sunday.

During the visit, the Corps’ leadership also extended condolences to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk; the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman; and to the late President’s elder brother and respected national figure, Mallam Mamman Daura.

Speaking on behalf of the Corps, Professor Audi described the late President Buhari as a patriot, disciplinarian, and iconic leader who dedicated his entire life to the service of Nigeria both in military and civilian capacities.

He said, “We are here not just as a paramilitary agency, but as fellow Nigerians who have benefitted from his legacy of integrity, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to national development. His values will continue to guide generations of security personnel and public servants alike.”

The Commandant General assured the bereaved family and traditional institutions of the Corps’ continued respect and cooperation in preserving peace and stability across Katsina State and Nigeria at large.

The Emir of Daura and the Emir of Katsina appreciated the NSCDC delegation for the honour and solidarity shown in their time of grief, praying for Allah’s continuous guidance and protection for the Corps in the discharge of its critical mandate.

The visit ended with prayers for the repose of the late President’s soul and peace in the nation he served with honour.
