Ogah Foundation places 172 students on scholarship

Chinedu Ogah Foundation has awarded full scholarships to 172 students in Ebonyi state.
Ogah who is the federal lawmaker representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency gave the scholarship students from his constituency.
The 172 students were from public schools, they were registered into Blessed Martins International School Abakaliki.
2025 scholarship is the 6th phase of the lawmaker’s long-standing effort to empower young people through quality education.
Speaking at the event, Ogah assured beneficiaries that the foundation would sponsor their education “to the highest level they desire”, noting that many future leaders including presidents, senators, doctors, and professors were hidden among the scholarship recipients.
He stressed that education was the greatest investment for a better society and urged the students to focus on their studies. “We are giving you hope because education is life. Tomorrow, one of you may become a governor, lawmaker, or commissioner,” Ogah said.
The lawmaker explained that the scholarship complements the “People’s Charter of Needs” policy of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, which prioritizes education as a tool for empowerment. He added that beneficiaries were not chosen based on political or family ties but purely on merit.
Ebonyi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Illang Donatus, commended the foundation for stepping down the state’s education policy to the grassroots. He described the program as “a rare partnership between government and private individuals” that has given thousands of students access to quality education.
Donatus urged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and avoid distractions. “Read in the morning, afternoon, and night. Don’t let anyone mislead you into activities that can ruin your future. This scholarship is an opportunity of a lifetime,” he advised.
The commissioner also noted that many graduates of the Chinedu Ogah Foundation have gone on to secure jobs and contribute to society, describing the initiative as “one of its kind in the state.”
Parents of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the lawmaker and his wife for their humanitarian gesture, pledging prayers for the success of the program and for the continued growth of Ebonyi State under the present administration.
Proprietress of Blessed Martins College where the students enrolled, Mrs. Mary Ogah, admonished the students to maintain good academic performance. “Your score must not drop,” she said, stressing that the school has provided all necessary facilities including accommodation, meals, and water to enable them to concentrate fully on their studies.
She further reminded them that respect, discipline, and obedience were key values expected in the school community. “When you respect your teachers and fellow students, you will enjoy learning,” she added.
