Rape: Dynamic Ebira friends club gets justice for minor

In a landmark victory, the Dynamic Ebira Friends Club has successfully supported the prosecution of Lamidi Suberu Abdulhamid, convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl, Hidayat Abubakar.
The incident occurred on January 21, 2022, in Karaworo, Adavi LGA.
The Chairman of Club’s Committee on Girl Child Molestation and Drug Abuse, Barrister Tijjani Ahmed AbdulAziz swiftly intervened, funding investigations, medical treatment.
After a prolonged legal battle, the Family High Court sitting in Lokoja, on Thursday, found Abdulhamid guilty of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child, sentencing him to 6 years imprisonment without option of fine.
Reacting to the verdict, the Director of Information, Dynamic Ebira Friends Club, Abubakar Qamar, commended members of the club, particularly Alh. Idris Salawu Dongo, Chairman of the Girl Child Molestation and Drug Abuse Committee, immediate past President, Dr. Tijjani Ahmed Ajayi, and David Adeiza Bell, Esq. for their tireless efforts.
He added that “this case highlights the Club’s dedication to eradicating social ills and ensuring justice for vulnerable members of the community.”
Reacting to the judgment, Barrister Tijjani commended the justices for taking the bold step in protecting the vulnerable children in the society, saying it would deterred other from committing such crime.
