Rising above partisan politics: Governor Ododo’s chance to shine

With the Supreme Court’s ruling in his favour, Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman can now channel his energy into governing Kogi State with renewed vigour, building on the momentum he had already established.

This is his moment to shine, and he should seize it with unwavering determination, unrelenting passion, and a clear sense of purpose. He must pour his heart and soul into every endeavour, trusting that his tireless efforts will yield transformative results.

Embracing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with courage, resilience, and faith, he should have confidence that his hard work and dedication will pave the way for a brighter political future. And when he has given it his all, he should release his worries, trust in God’s plan for him, and have unwavering faith that everything will unfold as it should, knowing that his best efforts will yield the greatest rewards.

In the spirit of unity and reconciliation, it would be a magnanimous gesture for him to extend an olive branch to Ajaka, who had contested his victory and pursued it to the highest court. Regardless of the outcome or perception of Ajaka’s actions, we should acknowledge his right to exercise his constitutional rights without recrimination.

By putting aside their differences and working towards a common goal, they can prioritize the betterment of all, demonstrating true leadership and magnanimity in victory.

Now is the time for Governor Ododo to put political differences aside and embrace his role as the Chief Servant of all Kogi State citizens, regardless of their political affiliations or backgrounds. His administration’s delivery of democratic dividends should be inclusive, equitable, and blind to boundaries and divisions. This approach will foster a sense of belonging, promote social cohesion, and pave the way for a brighter future for all Kogites.

Building on the solid foundations laid by his political godfather, he should embrace a spirit of inclusivity and collective progress, carrying all stakeholders along in his vision to propel Kogi State to unprecedented heights.
