Sen. Nwebonyi kick start construction of N400m civic center

The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North District of Ebonyi state at the National Assembly, Abuja, Onyekachi Nwebonyi weekend commenced construction of a N400 million ultra morden civic center in Mbeke Ishieke community, Ebonyi local government of Ebonyi state.

The center said to create job opportunities for about 200 persons, had its foundation laid by the Senator alongside Governor Francis, represented by the commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Engr Francis Orientation.

Nwifuru commended Nwebonyi for cueing into the vision of his administration to develop the state by bringing the civic center to the people.

The governor however, described the Nwebonyi as a patriotic and an active Senator, stressing that he attracted many impactful infrastructural projects, including roads, electricity, and housing for the widows, scholarships, and other empowerment programs in less than two years in office.

He said the civic center remains very symbolic, as when completed, it would be one of the best in Ebonyi state, and shall serve many generations, especially in socio-economic development wise.

Senator Nwebonyi in his address explained that the civic center would be a state-of-the-art facility, a multipurpose center that stands a chance of creating job opportunities and increasing socio-economic activities in the area.

The Deputy Chief Whip noted that he attracted the civic center in fulfillment of his campaign promises to his people who were in dire need of both civic center, roads, electricity and other life touching projects.

He assured that no local government area in the Ebonyi North Senatorial zone will be left out in his developmental roadmap as a Senator representing the zone. He used the opportunity to announced that he would flag off a 10km internal road in Izzi local government area by December 2024, but other roads in Ohaukwu local government area, and Nnodo-Amike Aba within the Nkaliki axis of Ebonyi local government area would commence soon, adding that work has commenced at the 1.5km concrete road in Abakaliki council area.
