World teacher’s day: Afikpo council boss pledges partnership with teachers

The chairman,Afikpo local government area of Ebonyi state Engr. Timothy Nwachi weekend promised to partner with teachers in the area.
This was as Nwachi analyzed the importance of teachers in the society.
The LG boss in a goodwill message he signed and made to journalists promised to support the teachers through constant training and development programs, Infrastructure upgrades and resource provision among others.
The statement reads, “World Teachers Day is held annually on 5th October to celebrate all teachers around the globe and it commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 UNESCO recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers standards amidst all.
“On behalf of my immediate family, stakeholders and staff of Afikpo Local Government Council, I, NWACHI Timothy A.U. the Executive Chairman, warmly felicitate with you on this year’s special World Teachers’ day.
“This year’s theme is centred on Valuing Teachers’ Voices: towards a new social contract for education and it reminds us of the Passion teachers bring to their profession daily, doing everything it takes to positively impact their students/ pupils.
“Today, I celebrate your tireless efforts, dedication, and commitment to shaping minds and building futures. Your selflessness, patience, and passion for teaching, have made a profound impact on our communities.
“As we mark this year’s World Teachers’ Day, I acknowledge the critical role you play in inspiring and mentoring future leaders, fostering academic excellence and personal growth, and building a better society through education.
