Gombe varsity to confer honorary doctorate degree on innovator, Hadi Baba Usman
Engineer Baba Hadi Usman, 70, is an indigene of Jekadafari Ward, Gombe LGA, Gombe State.
He never attended formal school but memorised the Holy Qur’an at age 12.
A self-taught innovator who built radio stations, telephone handsets, radio transmitters, and even a Vespa-engine helicopter in the 1970s.
Recently, he invented a generator that runs without fuel and a stove powered by water.
Today at Gombe State University’s convocation, he will unveil more breakthroughs including a new security apparatus.
In recognition of his indigenous ingenuity and contributions to science, Gombe State University conferred on him a Doctor of Science, honoris causa, during its 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th combined convocation ceremony.
